My abstract acrylic paintings are play and artistic research. I investigate what feeling and depth can be achieved through colour, composition and texture. On the canvas, order and chaos, sameness and foreign bodies, harmony and contrast are juxtaposed. I work primarily with a technique of applying and removing sheer layers of colour. The painting develops in phases based on my reactions to the progress of the evolving details and patterns. It is an accumulation of intuitive, reactive steps of adding, shifting and subtracting material and colour. The final image is unknown.  I want my paintings to invite you to come closer, to discover details, to take your time, to touch and to be touched.
